Washington sources think that Dan is a litigious ticking time bomb with receipts
The owners have a lot of there but for the grace of God go I with Dan - that if the precedent gets set that owners can lose their teams for bad (but not illegal) behavior then they would start facing high scrutiny and maybe lose their teams as well.
Supposedly Jerry Richardson was already looking to sell and there was illicit activity so they could have a PR win when he was going to sell anyway.
If they went for Dan they may beleive that he would hold up the action in court for decades and the team would be in true limbo - and he could leak stories that would turn up the heat on many other owners.
