We always say this, but honestly there’s no way a coach at any school (including ours) could tell a recruit he has to go
off and do service for two years if that wasn’t his plan, and still land that recruit.
We have kids who want to go on a mission. If it’s a benefit, then we reap it, and no, not every other coach can.
I still think it does more harm physically and football-developmentally than good. But this isn’t really a valid argument.
