In one HS game, I kept bumping into a ref as I was playing inside LB. He was
setting up at the start of each play a few steps outside where I was lining up. Normally the ref there would start the play sort of between our two MLBs, but this guy was outside my outside shoulder. On every run play to my side, as I would shuffle sideways I would bump right into him, and on every pass play in zone coverage I would have to go around him as I was getting into my drop.

My coach was all over me for not getting to the ball quicker, and I told him about the ref. He told me to run him over the next time. So I did. The next time I was moving his way and he was right in front of me, I hit him right between the shoulder blades and went right through him. Of course, I made sure to apologize after the play.

Next play, he lined up INSIDE and a bit behind me and was not in my way again the whole game.
