Executive meeting years ago and our CEO gave each one of us a copy of his book.
But as others have said it is a fine line between doing the work yourself and having other do it. I found that I couldn't delegate anything where the budget was $100M or more. I was never really great at as a manager of people while an executive. The variety of projects had me with entry level employees up to Senior Directors. IMHO that was too big of a spread.
