I agree with both. Gas is probably going to get expensive in the short term.
Run the 220 line also if you are building so you have an option. It is pretty expensive to add a 220 after the house is built.

Electric is common but we use a gas dryer. But we also have an outlet for elec.

We have gas with a direct vent (less than two feet between the back of the dryer
