Game 6 of the 1977 World Series. It launched my lifelong interest in all sports.
I knew nothing about baseball or any other sport at the time. I turned on the TV and stumbled onto the game by accident.
I was mesmerized by the crazy New York crowd both in terms of its size and intensity. Reggie Jackson hit three home runs on three pitches (first pitch each time) from three different pitchers. Prior to that night only Babe Ruth had ever hit three HRs in one World Series game.
