I've been a Cougarfan since my childhood in the late 80s early 90s but never played football and don't understand a lot of the Xs and Os. I started the BYU Insider blog 6-7 years ago because I was frustrated with the comments section on DesNews and wanted to share my take on certain things. The blog evolved over time and now focuses almost exclusively on football recruiting, but I'll occasionally dig into stats and other interesting aspects of BYU football. I now also write for ESPN960 and have learned a lot from Criddle.

Still don't know much about football but I have learned a lot these last few years about recruiting, and have been fortunate to interview most of the players on the team as well as a lot of former players that made it to The League. It's been a real privilege to interact with the BYU commits and get to know them before they arrive on campus. This 2022 class is special and I think we'll see at least 2-3 of them in the NFL down the road.

A couple weeks ago one of my students lost his father (to a rare disease) and the BYU football community was so gracious to send video messages to show support for the family. Sol-Jay, the Domanator, and others sent really thoughtful messages to lift up a 10 year-old whose in a lot of pain. Dax Milne sent him a message within a few hours of his playoff game, which I thought was super thoughtful. That experience made even more grateful to be a part of the BYU football community and increased my faith in humanity.

I'm grateful for CB. I know it gets a bad wrap sometimes, especially when it comes to members of the media (don't know if I qualify there), but there is a lot of good that comes from being part of this community. So cheers CB, here's to another decade on this incredible fan board.
