I had a girl come up to me after a girl’s choice dance and tell me she would
have asked me to the dance, but she was too scared. I wasn’t into her and I responded with a straight faced and flat “Oh.”
That was over 30 years ago and I can still see her hurt face. And I still feel guilty about it when the thought comes up.
