Couldn't agree more with you.
I just watched a bunch of this to check myself, and basically, at WORST all we've done is move the "game of horse" back further. Any time someone could get into the paint to layup/dunk, they still did. Otherwise, it was iso over and over and if they couldn't break it down, they'd settle for a sucky mid-range jumper that went in at about the same rate as a 3, or they passed it to someone else who took a sucky mid-range jumper. At least now with the drive and kick we're seeing the ball zipping around, trying to settle for the open man. I love how the game is played today compared to the past.
