I think setting up a game between UVA and Tennessee as well as structuring the buyout has been in the works for a few months. It helps us make good with UVA on cancelling our series with them and brings in some cash to make a 2023 pay game possible if needed.

I don’t think this caught Tom by surprise. He likely helped orchestrate it.

If I had to guess, I think that the 2024 Nevada game gets moved to 2023 because Nevada only has 11 games scheduled so far for next year. That makes things flexible in case we start off with 4 Big 12 home games rather than 5 in the first year.
