We of course would watch the games on CBC but not every game was televised or at least not on peasant vision. My dad and I would stay up and listen to the games on his old radio.

I remember being 5 years old and crying after the Flames lost to the Canadiens in the SCF and of course the ecstasy of winning in ‘89.

I remember just getting off my mission and seeing the Flames’ improbable playoff run with Miikka Kiprusoff and Iginla. I went to a playoff game that year against the Canucks, and would travel to the Red Mile for viewing parties. But missed the parade after they lost when a million fans showed up to show support after they lost in 7 to Tampa.

I will always be a Flames fan. Canadian teams are fine and all but my team is Calgary.
