B12 invites Arizona, Arizona St, Washington St, and Boise St.
I know. I know. It's not going to happen. But here's the rationale:
1. Washington State would be a great fit in the B12 culturally. And the two Arizona schools and BSU are not nearly as woke as the other schools in the P12.
2. This move would take 3 current P12 schools, still significantly injuring the conference. In addition, it would remove one of their most attractive expansion targets.
3. These 4 schools all work well from a geography standpoint, especially given that BYU is already in the fold as a new member.
4. To me the two Arizona schools are no-brainers if they're interested in joining. Nobody believes that Oregon or Washington would be happy in the B12 long term. There's obviously lingering bad blood between the B12 and Colorado over their previous defection to the P12. And what would Utah add to the B12 that BYU doesn't already give them? And very public attitude that the B12 is beneath them doesn't engender any good will among current B12 schools. So, given all that, why not Washington State and BSU?
Be gentle. Remember that this was couched from the beginning as an "out-of-the-box" plan. But I believe that these 4 schools would all have some genuine interest in joining the B12. The others, maybe not so much, except out of desperation.
