They only allow annual passes now because of the backlash..
.. But Disney doesn't want locals (or any other AP holders) at the parks.
They have an overcrowding issue... so the people you remove are the people that are not buying swag and experiences.

It depends on how much you value them. People pay the same or more to attend a huge sporting event or concert.
