BYU does things so out of order. The show some highlights to music, which is good. Then they do player intros, a bit too early here, then the band takes over and spells COUGARS, which is fine, and then the band does that awful school song/hymn(not Rise and Shout) and the whole crowd wonders if we are in a church meeting we tried to avoid or something else. It kills all the energy. Then, they try to pump everyone up again for the players to run out.

I would say the ideal order is:
1 - the awful hymn if we have to
2 - Spelling COUGARS
3 - Starting players intros
4 - Highlights with pump up music
5 - players come out to more pump up music.
