I’m a member of a local folk dancing group and we just had the opportunity to perform at the BYU football pregame.
We’ve been doing shows for years but nobody other than our parents has ever come. It was so amazing to perform in front of a large crowd. Everyone was super into it and the energy was palpable. We had so many people come up to us afterward saying that we gave them the boost they needed to cheer all night long. The Wyoming fans seemed legitimately intimidated.
You can’t please everyone though. There was one middle-aged, short, heavy, mouth-breathing balding man who was wearing navy (I guessed he missed the memo) standing there with his arms folded and and a Lavell-like scowl on his face. He started booing us like Michael Scott during “Sweeney Todd”. As our performance ended, he muttered something about being offended because BYU wouldn’t let his cover band play in the pregame so I guess he was just bitter and jealous. He came across like a nerdy Uncle Rico.
