Winchesters and Brownings (especially the ones in good condition) tend to stay in families...
Makes me wish my family was more of a gun family.
With a Springfield and an M1, you're just a few guns short from a pretty good military collection (Krag-Jorgensen, M1917, and a Springfield Trapdoor would pretty much close it out).
Was the M1 a service-issued gun, or did it come into your family later through the various civilian buy-back programs?
