their friend. You’re their coach. And you should demand a certain level of discipline and expectation. Help the players achieve their highest potential. Make them work hard and earn it. Not that friendships can’t still occur but our coaches need to demand more of our players. But our coaches seem to be too nice and too soft and our players display that softness on the field.

I feel like Sitake feels like he can just love and befriend his players to a higher level and that just doesn’t work. Demand it from our players and set the bar high, so even if they fail to hit the mark they still achieve greatness.
