cougarmeister How does this work?
Soccer fans, would it work to use free kicks instead of PKs to decide matches?
Seems like everybody hates using PKs, so I was thinking it would be kind of fun to use free kicks instead, as in:

Teams get alternating free kicks, and (similar to OT in college football) each team gets an equal number of attempts. If team A scores on their attempt, team B must score or the match is over.
Free kicks are taken from designated spots on the field (similar to the spot marked for penalty kicks)
For each free kick, play ends as soon as the ball goes out of play (so all the defense needs to do is clear the ball over the end-line, sidelines, or the mid-field line)
If there is a penalty in the box on a free kick, referee could award a PK as normal.

Am I crazy, would it even be feasible?
