Utah got in the conference championship in 22 because the tie-breaker was strength of record. They’ve had one bye of note 2021 before USC. Every other bye has been Cal, Wazzu, or OSU. They’ve never hosted SC late. It’s a tired talking point with no data. “Lucky Utes”.
