Heck of a game but disappointing in the end. Dallin Hall was a beast. SMC couldn't really figure him out. He got to the rim almost at will and mostly made good decisions. I'm on the Dallin Hall train and have loved to see the progress from him all year. Yes, his shooting needs to be improved. His shooting form is good and an off-season of practice will be a world of difference for him. He has 79 assists for the season with 48 turnovers. That's very good for a true freshman. I fully believe he'll be a difference maker for us in the Big12.

I really liked how Pope wanted to feed Fouss the ball early and often. He struggles with length and that is seen in his pts/poss. But in a game like this, Fouss needed to be our go to guy. He's still learning and will continue to progress.

One mistake was not running more plays for Johnson to get open for 3s. Johnson is shooting 50% from 3 on the year. He shot 5 tonight and should have shot 10.

SMC plays tough defense and BYU stood toe to to against them. Fun game but disappointing. I will be glad to not play them again after this year. While I wouldn't mind games against Gonzaga in non-conference, SMC is off my list of teams to play. Bennett would have to play a non-conference road game out of California and he would never do that.
