Also, this side story was a total tv/movie cliche
except that it was gay. Seriously, how many times is the love interest taking a shower and the other love interest awkwardly brings in clothes or a towel. Apocalypse romance is overdone and this apolypse romance was absolutely formulaic, except, you know ... they were gay so people are acting like this was something amazing.
