tonight. It's sad, but has to be done. She's been a really good dog; we've had her for 16 years. She's still as nice and docile as ever, but her kidneys don't work anymore, and it's better if she just goes down.

I think my family has had a good dog experience. She's been a member of the family, but also definitely an "animal" that we don't pamper to some ridiculous extent. Still pretty sad to see her go, though.
