Along with all you other Swifties out there I got roped into driving my wife and daughters down for the concert on Saturday and we drove back home yesterday.

Got stuck in that bumper to bumper, stop, go and stop longer road construction before you get to the gorge for over 90 minutes! You know, the construction they have been working on since before my high school daughters were even born.

To make matters worse right when we were finally about to the end of the construction I pulled off at an exit so one of the girls could use a restroom only to find out that in the wisdom of the Arizona Highway Patrol they had closed the on ramp and were forcing everyone that was not on I15 to drive the back way into Saint George on highway 91.

After that hour long detour we finally got back on I15 just in time to hit the snow squalls heading up to Cedar City. Forced to stop to help some Ute fans (yes a certified car load of Ute fans but surprisingly friendly and grateful which was strange) who decided to pull a 720 in their Ford Explorer get back on the road (that eventually took me in their drivers seat to accomplish).

And then finally when the weather cleared I spent the rest of the drive navigating around the dozens of special spirits who set their cruise control at 80 and park in the left lane oblivious to the quickly approaching traffic behind them.

Left Vegas at 3 pm, heard every Taylor Swift song ever written at least a dozen times and got home to Salt Lake County at 5 minutes to midnight which gave me plenty of sleep to get up for my 6 am call with a customer on the east coast.

I did happen to discover the Mavericks mini tacos on the way which were a surprising bright spot in my otherwise day off infamy. 😄
