Kind of our faults as well
Investing in stocks is a sterile and unemotional process. Retirement funds are almost managed by algorithms and the bottom line is the only thing that matters.

I'd suggest that this has been the case for hundreds of years. The Dutch East Indies didn't care about people. Industrialization until checked by unionization could care less about their employees quality of life.

Republicans love to hammer unions but they were one of the first organizations that protected the little guys. But they gained too much power but were a great check and balance.

Government if involved in economics should only be there to check and balance organizations or corporations and of course itself.
