You say you'll retire in 6-8 years, but do you see yourself withdrawing this
nest egg at one lump in 6-8 years? If so, get into a mixed, low-risk fund.

Most people who say "I'll retire in 6-8 years" plan to make their nest egg last the next 30 years. In which case, if you plan to withdraw a little each year, you can afford to be more aggressive against historic inflation and go into a more stock-heavy fund.

If I had 6-8 years away from retirement, I'd still be in VTSAX, VOO, VTI etc.
