Really impressed with the BYU game experience recently
I don't live in Utah and so I don't get a ton of opportunities to attend home games. I do regularly get to road games to watch BYU teams play. I'm really impressed how much BYU has stepped up the game day experience for all sports.

Was at the basketball game last night - the first mens BBall game in the MC in many years. The ROC, video boards, the pump up videos/curtain drop, and even everything during the breaks is all excellent. I was blown away. I went to a Texas home game in the Moody Center in Austin earlier this year and it was nothing like the MC last night. Hardly any students there, and they basically just shut the lights off and used a spotlight for the player intros. Same thing with Volleyball - caught a Women's Volleyball game in the SFH last fall as well as the game here in Austin vs Texas in Gregory Gymnasium. No comparison - like 2 rows of students at the Texas match and hardly any energy.

This goes for pretty much every game I've gone to recently. Went to the Arkansas game at LES 2 years ago and was blow away with the production - Cougar Walk, BYU TV pregame show atmosphere, game day experience, etc. Nothing like it at the OSU game in Stillwater, or the Baylor game in Waco, or the Texas game in Austin (even with their giant stadium and jumbotron).

Major props to the BYU admin and the athletic dept for doing such a great job of creating these great game atmospheres. It's good to be a Cougar fan.
