The American cemetery was one of many highlights. Hearing taps played at sundown overlooking the white crosses with the English Channel in the background was very moving.

We did a small group tour and it was well worth it. We did a full day tour and then had a couple of days on our own. Omaha beach, DDday museum in Caen, Utah beach and the German cemetery are must do’s.

I would have liked to have seen Sword and Juno beaches, St. Michelle, and some other towns, but time did not allow.

The William the conqueror tapestry in Bayeaux is worth the visit.
