having won a basketball national championship in the last 27 years of its existence (Arizona last won in 1997). To put this in perspective, in the previous 27 years (1971-1997), the PAC had won 6 national titles; and 12 if you tack 8 more years onto that (1963-97). And before that, the NIT was the more prestigious and important tournament, so NCAA tournament titles didn't really even count as natties.
Also to put it in perspective: 27 years ago was so long ago that utah was still good at basketball, and they went to the Final Four the year after the PAC won its last natty.
