So many eyerolls for making a point that you'd all agree with. My point was that
the Kevin Young hire goes beyond getting an NBA guy to coach BYU. It appears that we got one of the best NBA guys. NBA guys are a dime a dozen. Head coach caliber NBA guys are not. We got the latter. That's what I was trying to say.

All this talk about Young being an "NBA guy" needs a reality check. There are tons of NBA assistant coaches, and most of them would jump at the chance to be the head coach of a major college basketball program. Fans of most major college basketball teams would be let down if their teams hired your average NBA assistant coach. The fact that they've coached in the NBA probably doesn't mean a whole lot as far as getting players into the NBA either.

What we got is what appears to be a very, very good NBA assistant coach. A coach who has been considered for NBA head coaching jobs. One who is considered great at player development and designing offenses.

Because of that, players should want to play for him because he's a great coach and not just because he's an "NBA guy".
