In most of the Suns bad losses this year, there were large periods of time where
the offense didn't move. It involved Booker or KD or Beal (mostly Booker though) just holding the ball as the shot clock got down to about 8 seconds. And then someone would come set a screen, and he'd take 2 dribbles and shoot a partially contested shot with 2 or 3 seconds left. Or if it was really contested they'd pass it to the corner for a hurried shot. These plays rarely resulted in shots going down, and it would happen over and over again. This would lead to teams going on 12-0 runs all the time. It would often happen after the suns had built a 15-20 pt lead, only to lose it over like 2 or 3 minutes, usually at the end of a quarter or half.

It was very frustrating to watch, and fair or not, the fans usually attributed this to KY and the way his offense was built. I don't think it was actually designed to work that way. When the suns offense was at its best, there is tons of movement, screens, drives, kick outs, and timely passes that would lead to open shots.

It just was very inconsistent when that offense was being run. Some fans think it was because of a lack of a true point guard, and forcing booker, beal or eric gordon to take on that role was just too un-natural for them. I think it was just a lack of discipline and effort to run the offense as designed.

Anyway, fans are dumb and want to always blame the coaches when things are hard to watch. Combine this with a ridiculous amount of turnovers, lazy defense, failure to rotate and guard 3 point shooters, and this team has been very underwhelming this year.

So the fans put a lot of it on KY, and were not sad to see him go.

We'll find out if they are wrong and end up really missing his presence on the team.
