They're great for BYU, but not for Kentucky.
Kentucky's sights (and sites) are set on national championships. Plural. BYU's sites are set on getting out of the first round.
As much as I love our current and former BYU guys, Kentucky is not going to beat the UConns and Purdues of the world with Aly Khalifa, Jaxson Robinson, Dallin Hall, and Collin Chandler. If Pope's plans for Kentucky are centered around BYU transfers, he's gonna have a very short stint in Lexington.
Seriously, can you imagine Aly Khalifa guarding Zach Edey or Donovan Clingan?
Again, I love those players, and I want them all to come back to BYU. But BYU is nowhere close to a national championship team. Not last year, not ever. Changing the name on the front of the jerseys isn't going to magically turn them into national championship-caliber players.
