Maybe it isn’t Smith trademarking those. Maybe entrepreneurial moguls trying to predict the name and make a quick
buck. I remember reading about a guy who has bought up tons of domain names for potential future popes (the Catholic kind, not the basketball kind) and he got Benedict right and sold it to the church.
