Obviously, you only need 15 on a basketball roster. The odds that there are 5-8 gifted LDS / faith-oriented bball athletes in our recruitable area is so much higher than the 60-80 or so gifted players you'd need for football to construct a deep, killer team. And 1 Jimmer makes a HUGE difference on a basketball team, moreso than 1 Detmer does on a football team. So every once in a while, when the BYU stars align, you'll actually get a Jimmer or an Ainge, just like a Detmer or Ziggy Ansah, but that one player can carry the basketball team so much further than the football team.
