I can relate so much!!! I don't make chump change. Over 110k but while all my
Peers were buying houses I was in graduate school. I graduated and housing was out of reach.

We decided to try to move the needle and attempt to make more money I opened a business things were moving in the right direction but we were still renting then Covid hit and my business did not survive. Major set back loosing the progress we had made and ended about 8-10k in debt.

We moved to Texas for a high paying job. We've been trying to save up to buy a house for a few of years. By the time we pay 1500 in student loan, rent 2000 (1600 sq ft house), modest groceries and clothes for 5 kids, 140 in car payment, utilities, and other basic monthly expenses there is not much left to save.

I've been working another quarter time job on top of my full time job to try to save a little faster. I just got called as a bishop and can't maintain full time job and quarter time job and bishop duties. Feels like we're on a hamster's wheel. We think this summer we might be able to buy something small or run down. I am praying for a miracle to get something adequate for our family of 7.

Sorry I'm just complaining at this point. Life is good, as a matter of fact, life is really good. It's just housing has been in thorn in our side for 14 years of marriage.
