The context for this statement was inspiring...
Ryan told his conversion story. He gave some personal details that I feel uncomfortable sharing, but Brian Santiago asked, "It would be so much easier in your position to stay neutral, why do you fly your byu flag knowing it will upset some?"

Again, skipping some personal things, Ryan grew up in Provo and BYU was a place he could literally go that was a consistent while other things in life were not. His dad was a professor at BYU, and his dad was sick with cancer. BYU really helped through that difficult time while he was out of work for over a year. Ryan met his wife at BYU. BYU was there for Ryan's family when they needed Byu, "...so if Byu needs anything from me, they'll get it."
