The Donner party was only 30 MILES from the California plains when their axle
snapped!? Holy yewt. That’s crazy.
Was about to goto bed when I made the mistake of clicking on something related to the “Donner Party”, and now 3 hours later I’m 100 feet into this deep dive.
Lansford Hastings was a moron and should’ve been held accountable for telling people that his pass would shave off 400 miles, when it actually added 100 miles.
