Last point isn't very valid. We HAD to keep going to stay in that game. There were numerous games we could have scored in the 40's and 50's if the coaches would let them keep playing. Sorry, but the coaches think 30-14 is a blowout win and usually stop playing.
First of all, no, those 30 don't all count to their credit. Good defense was played on the 69 yd TD that was an OPI. That would have been incomplete or even an INT. Even if there wasn't and it was clean, that would have been a TD on Blake Morgan... So there's 6 pts due potentially to the refs or in a way "Bills being out."
Jamaal had the first TD of the game and two total... which he didn't finish. Only played about 2.5 quarters. Maybe he gets another if he finishes.
Not saying they wouldn't have scored on us with other guys... They did anyway and beat our best players for at least one TD. Just trying to get you to see the main point here... That the odds of everything possibly going wrong in one game.
So 24 points on us, just barely above our defensive average. Add in one of the other things and you've got 30. Give us a healthy crew and we might even hold them to less. No PoVey, Morgan, Hague out there.
Houston is a good team but I don't need to say again that it's not going to be a 47-46 game in Provo. You're right about everything on them. They're dangerous, they'll return guys and be older. So will we. They might score but they're not getting almost 50 on us on your average night. Not even close. On the flip side, we could put up 40 against that team on average.
