Bellotti was a 13-year coach with a .67 winning percentage. An 8-5 average.
Here's his records:

9-3
6-5
7-5
8-4
9-3
10-2
11-1
7-6
8-5
5-6
10-2
7-6
9-4
10-3

He was supposedly reassigned as the AD for one year. He was fired.

Chip Kelly took over and went

12-1
12-2
12-1

Now, does BYU have an offensive coordinator hot shot like Kelly that's been brought in to take over the program? No, they don't.

I'm not saying there's a guy out there that's taking BYU on a streak like Kelly did.

But Bellotti was an experienced, entrenched coach with an 8-5 average. He got forced out and it was absolutely the right call (unlike New Mexico and Nebraska).
