Who cares? Even if it is on a person by person basis, I have no problem with
him being kicked out. If the team rule is "former players aren't allowed in the locker room," it's possible that enforcement plays out more like "former players aren't allowed in the locker room unless they're deemed to not be distractions." I could see players that recently left the program and have strong personal connections with other current players being more of a distraction than less recent players.

The fact that a player supposedly booted him just reinforces this idea that he was probably viewed as a distraction in the locker room. In my mind, there's no reason any player should personally feel entitled, whether or not others have been permitted in the locker room.
