If a kid comes in believing that God gave him his talent with the purpose of building His kingdom (lots of people including non-LDS say this) he might think that displaying those talents at the Church's school is the most effective means to that end (and he'd probably be right).
But I think it might be pretty terrible to try to use this argument to convince (convert?) a kid who isn't thinking that way.
By itself, if a kid feels inspired this way, that's probably among the best reasons to choose BYU.
