Of all the reasons to go to BYU, this is probably the worst.

The church will be fine with or without any one Mormon athletes attending BYU. Pressuring an 18 year old to go to BYU out of some obligation to promote the LDS church is a little over the top.

There are many reasons for a kid to pick BYU. No need to manipulate a kid's faith.
