It's not just what happens on the offensive end.
Each minute that passed put additional pressure on Gonzaga. This showed by them rushing their offense and turning the ball over multiple times.

We were gassed. We had mostly the same guys on the court the whole game.

Now this I get and can get behind. There are times you need to steal a breath

Which is why we don't stand a chance in the WCC tournament. No bench.

Yes, agree. But if our guys are so tired that the extra 3-4 secs of rest

Less conditioning than bench issues. Mika played 39 of 40 minutes.

I'll be honest, I noticed the same. Now, I had the luxury of knowing the final,

6. Rested starters on court without a timeout, which allowed enough defensive

Did not say to not slow it down. The few additional secs make a big difference.

Don't deliberate possessions lead to more offensive rebounds? (4 Reb and 7 pts)

I've never seen any data that suggests that. You dont "count on" OREB.
Shteve

Noone's counting on them, but if you're running to shoot, there won't be people

So, the data suggests we lost the game? Lies, Dang Lies, Data

I agree that they should have given themselves a few more seconds. 8-10 sec didn't leave enough options.

The strategy worked because it gave the other team less opportunity to score.

did you forget Bryant's layup? Also, need to look at what our defense did on ..
icecougar
3/1/17 1:43pm
no, Bryants layup wasn't a possession where we slowed it down.
Shteve
3/1/17 2:05pm
yup. I've been a vocal advocate for a while now that we waste way too many...

Clearly stated "excludes extended possessions." An OREB is not offense.
