That is what BYU hoops always is minus a few outlier great years
BYU has never been a consistently great hoops team. Other than the great run with Ainge and Jimmer, BYU is typically a bubble team in hoops. Even Michael Smith/Chatman year was not great tourney team.
People thinking that BYU can hire the right coach and go next level are wrong because the recruiting base won’t change. That is the edge Football has over hoops is a recruiting base that can help. In hoops, athletic tall white guys are hard to find, let alone LDS ones.
