No, they are not all saints, but the vast majority of NHL players I’ve met have been very humble and gracious. My buddies father in law is a life long wings fan, I ended up in line behind Sergei Federov at a charity event. I called my friends FIL and said quietly, or so I thought, I’m right behind Feds at the golf tourney. He overheard me and asked who I was speaking with, after telling him who it was and apologizing profusely for bothering him, he took my phone, thanked my friends FIL for his years of fandom. They had a nice 2-3 minute conversation while we waited in line, then he said “I gotta run, it was a pleasure speaking with you, but we are going to kick the Red Wings butts this year, then handed me my phone and said Go Ducks. That was nearly 20 years ago and my friend father in law still talks about it. NHL players superstars on down are just a different breed.
