is because it has always been his dream to play for BYU football. He has grown up a Cougar fan and is very aware of the rivalry. He committed to BYU several months ago, shortly after he got the offer. There is nowhere else he wants to play. That's why it was a bit funny to him to receive a letter from Utah, because he has grown up on one side of the rivalry. I don't think he was making fun of the school at all. It's not that big of a deal. I'm sure that kids who grow up hardcore Utah fans have the same reaction if they receive an offer from BYU. It's not something they would even consider, going to a school with a bunch of people they've rooted passionately against their entire lives. It's not a knock on the U, just part of the rivalry.
