It all depends on what is trying to be accomplished - attendance or revenue
It seems to me that attendance is one piece of the P5 puzzle we have down. It is an advantage we can push even further. Having more attendance than anyone in the west - including the Pac 10 would be a significant accomplishment which may factor into P12 discussions. Compare that to the University of Miami where you could have a 100K stadium and still only get 50K out. Part of this strategy involves expanding the stadium to consistently hit the top 25/ top 20 in attendance every year, and topping the Pac-10 most years.

This would be a long-term strategy that would involve short-term costs. BYU would have to reduce some upper seat prices - maybe drop the top 5 rows in half. In my mind, getting into the P5 changes the strategic balance of those costs. Being consistently top 25 in attendance when people are losing attendance in college football (in my mind due to ticket prices) works to our long term advantage. Maximizing revenue by raising ticket prices makes no sense until we are already in the P5.
