Thats not the irrational part

its that cheering for a football team is equal to cheering for the church, and vice versa. You also seem to believe that EVERYONE that dislikes BYU, does so because of some religious disdain. While I admit there are some who hate the church, and as a result hate byu, there are far more who view BYU as a sports rival, and nothing more.
