I have an opinion on the rivalry/non-rivalry. I think it's easy to see why USU would consider this a rivalry. I think there is a more than few number of BYU fans who consider this game a rivalry one--albeit some unwittingly. Once you feel don't want to lose to a team simply because they are local or neighbors, then it starts to become a rivalry game for those. I think that's where I am. Now, that's not to say it necessarily means it's a big rivalry.
In any event, any time one team feels it's a rivalry game, the other team had better treat it that way and be up for it or they're going to have a much harder time. Generally speaking, of course.
