In reference to the linked article where Kinahan interviewed Steve Cleveland regarding the FB program problems, it seems to me that the culture and discipline problems with the FB team have been substantiated. There are just too many people (aside from CB) saying the same thing about the culture. Even Derik Stevenson says there is a problem (960 interview last week). I hope Kalani can figure it out, but it seems that there are way more changes that need to take place beyond replacing a coordinator. It's hard to imagine solving the problem without wholesale changes in the staff, and I seriously doubt that Ty Detmer was the center of the culture problem on the team.
It's not just the offense. Remember that it was a defensive player (Fred Warner) that called out the players for their lack of discipline earlier in the year. I think the offense showed the worst, because it is particularly sensitive to discipline problems given the tiny margin of error in executing an offensive play. The defense barely had a challenge this year, because opposing offenses were able to play conservatively knowing that they didn't need to score a bunch. Not turning the ball over was pretty much the only offensive game plan opposing teams needed this year, and our defense didn't even perform well vs. that.
