Rise Against All-American
Again, he wasn't wrong. You went to the hyperbolic extreme claiming he said
we kept all of our players. He never said that. We have kept the overwhelming majority of our talented players. It's a statistically factual statement. The majority of our players have stayed, and most of those that have hit the portal have not amounted to anything anywhere else.
The definition of majority: "The greater number"

There is only 1 player in this current transfer portal class that is a bummer- John Henry Daley. The other 7 players are not a loss for BYU. Losing only 8 players on an 85 player roster is in line with what he stated. And the fact that only one of those 8 is a loss shows how many we have retained.

Last year's transfer portal saw 20 players leave. Still, 20 out of 85 is the minority. And of those 20 that left, only 8 went to P4 teams. Of those 8, only 4 showed anything (Holker, Romney, Clark Barrington, and GJL). The others were not a loss. Conover? Please. Campbell? He was the laughing stock of that o-line for Grimes and their fans hated him. Logan had his 3rd ACL injury and didn't get much playing time and likely will never return to form. Keenan logged a grand total of 4 tackles last year. His injury derailed his career. Udo? Again, laughable to consider him a loss. And the rest of the players either never got picked up anywhere or ended up at FCS schools, which is a huge indictment of the terrible recruiting that Ed Lamb and Tuiaki were doing. But they're gone now and our recruiting has improved dramatically, so there's not use beating that dead horse.

Last year we had 22 players transfer in. 15 of them got starter reps at some point in the season, 4 of which received all Big12 honors. You can easily do the math. We lost 20 (most of which went to FCS schools and weren't very good) and we gained 22, 15 of which were starters. Only one player that transferred received any all conference honors. That's absolutely a net positive.

I'm sorry that your negativity isn't allowing you to see that we have been the beneficiaries in the portal chaos and that Kalani is building a better roster these past couple of seasons. Yeah, I wish it would have happened earlier too. But the fact that our recruiting rankings are some of our best ever is an indicator that things are improving.
